Mo-Kan Insurance Services Inc. was formed in October 1990 with the mission of distributing quality insurance products through financial institutions and independent agencies. Since then, it has evolved into a full-service insurance brokerage with a focus on top-notch customer service that comes from creating fully integrated partnerships with clients.

Ron Wheeler, LUTCF
Ron was one of the original founders of MKI in October 1990, and now has 34 years experience in the insurance business. MKI is a brokerage that markets annuities and insurance through financial institutions and independent agents.
Ron has served in a variety of positions with local, state and national chapters of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, including three years on the National Membership Committee and is a past National Committeeman for the Missouri NAIFA. He has also served on the Advisory Board of the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration and is the 2010 recipient of the prestigious Herbert A. Hedges, Sr. award, presented by NAIFA-Greater Kansas City.
Ron is active in his church. He served for 9 years on the Board of Directors for the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and is the past chairman of the district’s youth board.
Ron and his wife, Liz, live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. They have two adult children.
Gary joined MKI in October of 2002. He has been in financial services since 1994, serving five years as an investment advisor and 2 years as a registered supervisor of investment representatives with a national bank, and running an investment program with a $5 billion regional financial institution for a year. Gary has trained and managed hundreds of registered representatives and insurance agents over the years.
Gary earned his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1981, and specializes in training Investment Representatives and Insurance Agents about delivering investments and life insurance effectively and ethically.
Gary and his wife, Connie, reside in Tonganoxie, Kansas.
Chris Walden, CFP
Chris joined MKI in October of 2008. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1993, including 12 years as a bank representative. He received a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 1992 and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1999. Chris obtained his CFP® certificate in 2001.
Chris is past president of the Greater Kansas City Financial Planning Association. He also serves as president of the Kansas City Golden Gloves.
Chris and his wife, Kristie, live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with their two children, Jake and Jacey.

Amy has been affiliated with MKI since 2006. Amy earned a BA degree from Wichita State University in 1984. She has been working in the life insurance and financial services industries since 1990, and has been insurance licensed since 1996. Amy's expertise is new business processing, licensing, field underwriting, administration and customer service.
Amy lives in Independence, Missouri, with her husband, Ted. They have two adult children.
